The Man

[Les Claypool playing @ Stubb's on April 19, 2010]

Taylor and I are both huge fans of Les Claypool, and he's actually one of the main reasons we chose California for our road trip. He was born in Richmond, California which is located in the eastern part of the San Francisco Bay Area. We have no plans to stalk him, but we would like to experience firsthand the rich environment that cultivated such an amazingly talented musician, songwriter, producer, author, and director.

He was the leader singer and bassist from the band Primus (1989-2000), and there are rumors circulating that the original members of Primus plan to produce another album, ending their indefinite hiatus. Claypool has produced music outside of Primus, either solo or by creating other bands. He's known for his creative playing style and often times eccentric lyrics, which is exactly why we love his music.
